Hari Buggana
Managing Director of Evolvence India Life Sciences Fund

Hari Buggana is the Managing Director of InvAscent - the Investment Advisor of Evolvence India Life Sciences Fund. Prior to this, Hari was a consultant with McKinsey & Company. During his stint at McKinsey, Hari primarily worked with Life Sciences businesses in the US, Europe, and India on a variety of issues ranging from corporate strategy, mergers & acquisitions, product-market strategy, R&D productivity, organizational effectiveness, and operations improvement. Prior to joining McKinsey, Hari worked as a scientist in the Pharmaceutical Products Division of Abbott Laboratories, USA. Hari has a MBA from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University and a M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago.

Dr. P. Namperumalsamy
Chairman of Aravind Eye Hospital

Dr P Namperumalsamy, MS, DO, FAMS is the founding member of the Aravind Eye Care System and is currently its Chairman and Professor of Ophthalmology. He is a life member of many national and international professional bodies, including the All India Ophthalmological Society, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Retina Society, USA. He has been involved in many research projects as Principal Investigator and has presented 189 scientific papers at national and international ophthalmic conferences, and has to his credit chapters written by him on various ophthalmic diseases in 8 text books and written 101 articles in renowned ophthalmic Journals. He has set up a Centre of Relevance and Excellence in Diabetic Retinopathy, in association with Govt. of India, World Diabetes Foundation, Denmark and TOPCON, Tokyo in creating community awareness, health education, training, research and management of diabetic retinopathy. He has set up I.T. enabled Vision Centres in rural areas and established Aravind Virtual Ophthalmic Academy and has taken a leading role in the establishment of Dr. G. Venkataswamy Eye Research Institute.

He has received numerous awards and accolades including Padma Shree Award by the Government of India, Lifetime Achievement Award by the All India Ophthalmological Society, Achievement Award by the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Dr. B.C. Roy National Award (2006) in the category of Eminent Medical Teacher by the Medical Council of India etc.

G. V. Prasad
Vice Chairman and CEO of Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories

GV Prasad is Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, a fully integrated global pharmaceutical company headquartered in India. He leads a team that is driven by Dr Reddy’s purpose of providing affordable and innovative medicines for healthier lives. This commitment is demonstrated through two parallel objectives: To bring affordable medicines as early as possible to the market so that they are readily accessible to people around the world; and to develop new solutions to medical problems that are unmet or not satisfactorily addressed.

Prasad has played a key role in the evolution of Dr. Reddy’s from a mid-sized pharmaceutical company into a globally respected pharma major. He built and nurtured several new lines of business, helped to build a high-talent organization, and was instrumental in introducing best-in-class practices in corporate governance. He is also a champion of sustainability thinking and has spearheaded efforts to reduce the company’s ecological footprint by embracing green technologies and processes.

Prasad’s personal mission is to create high performing organizations which can sustain and thrive through changing generations of people, products and technologies. He firmly believes that a strong human resource base is crucial for seamlessly integrating diverse businesses and cultures to perform as a cohesive business force. He has focused on transformation through people processes and has launched several initiatives in People practices, corporate governance, and corporate reporting which won the company several awards.

Balaji Utla
CEO of HMRI

Balaji Utla, doctorate in Management, has about 26 years of experience in the areas of learning, organization development and strategy and CSR. He is on the Board of EPTRI, and Drivers' Guild Foundation and is on the advisory board of several organizations.

Since January 2007

He is currently the CEO of Health Management and Research Institute (HMRI). HMRI and Government of Andhra Pradesh have come together under a public-private not for profit partnership (PPP) to augment healthcare delivery systems in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

HMRI provides outcome-oriented management to enhance access and utilization of health services through IT-enabled support to policy makers, government and private healthcare providers, and teaching and training institutions.

- HMRI has been awarded the NASSCOM Social Innovation Honours Award in the Not-for-Profit category in 2010
- 104 Advice HMRI's health helpline has been awarded the prestigious e-Health award in the 2009 eIndia conference
- HMRI has been awarded the prestigious ''The Manthan South Asia 2008 Award'' for best e-content for development under 104 health services in Andhra Pradesh.

Ranjay Gulati - Moderator
Professor at Harvard Business School

He is an expert on leadership, strategy, and organizational issues in firms. His recent work explores leadership and strategic challenges for building high growth organizations in turbulent markets. Some of his prior work has focused on the enablers and implications of within-firm and inter-firm collaboration. He has looked at both when and how firms should leverage greater connectivity within and across their boundaries to enhance performance.

Professor Gulati is the past-President of the Business Policy and Strategy Division at the Academy of Management and an elected fellow of the Strategic Management Society. He was ranked as one of the top ten most cited scholars in Economics and Business over a decade by ISI-Incite. The Economist Intelligence Unit has listed him as among the top handful of business school scholars whose work is most relevant to management practice.He has been a Harvard MacArthur Fellow and a Sloan Foundation Fellow. His research has been published in leading journals such as American Journal of Sociology, Strategic Management Journal, Administrative Science Quarterly, Harvard Business Review, Sloan Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, and Organization Science. He has also written for the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, strategy+business, and the Financial Times. Professor Gulati sits on the editorial board of several leading journals including Administrative Science Quarterly and Strategic Management Journal. He was a co-editor of a special issue of the Strategic Management Journal on Alliances and Strategic Networks in 2000 and will be co-editing another special issue on Organizational Architecture in 2010.

Professor Gulati teaches courses in Harvard Business School's MBA and Executive Education programs. He has directed several executive programs on such topics as Building and Leading Customer Centric Organizations, Managing Customer Relationships, Managing Strategic Alliances, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Sustaining Competitive Advantage in a Network Economy. He is also active in custom executive education. He has received a number of awards for his teaching including the Best Professor Award for his teaching in the MBA and executive MBA programs at the Kellogg School where he was on the faculty prior to coming to Harvard.

Professor Gulati advises and speaks to corporations large and small around the globe. Some of his representative speaking and consulting clients include: GE, SAP, Bank of China, Sanofi Aventis, Novartis, Caterpillar, Allergan, Metlife, Target, Honda, Qualcomm, Aetna, Future Brands, Ford, Seyfarth Shaw, SAP, LaFarge, McGraw-Hill, Rockwell Collins, Lafarge, Merck, General Mills, Abbott Laboratories, Baxter, Credit Suisse, and Microsoft. He has served on the advisory boards of several startup companies and has appeared as an expert witness in business litigations.

He is a frequent guest on CNBC and has been a panelist on several of their series on topics that include: the Business of Innovation, Collaboration, and Leadership Vision. He has also been interviewed by such media as Businessweek, the Los Angeles Times, and Chicago Tribune.

Professor Gulati holds a Ph.D. from Harvard University, a Master's Degree in Management from M.I.T.'s Sloan School of Management, and two Bachelor's Degrees, in Computer Science and Economics, from Washington State University and St. Stephens College, New Delhi, respectively. He lives in Newton, Massachusetts.
