R.
Gopalakrishnan Executive Director, Tata Sons
R. Gopalakrishnan is executive director of Tata Sons,
chairman of Rallis India and
vice-chairman of Tata Chemicals. He is a director of several
Tata Group companies such
as Tata Motors, Tata Power and Tata Internet Services.
He also serves on the board of
two non-Tata companies, ICI and Castrol India.
A key member of the Tata Group Executive Office, Mr Gopalakrishnan
plays a vital role in providing direction and impetus
to the Group's forays into potentially viable areas of
the new economy. Mr Gopalakrishnan joined Hindustan Lever
(HLL) as a management trainee in 1967. In 1987, he joined
HLL's management committee as executive director of exports.
In 1991, he was appointed chairman of Unilever Arabia,
based in Jeddah, to establish and manage Unilever's consumer
products business in Arab countries. On his return to
India in 1995, he was appointed managing director of Brooke
Bond Lipton. After the company's merger with HLL, he was
designated vice chairman of Hindustan Lever. After 31
years with HLL, Mr Gopalakrishnan joined Tata Sons in
August, 1998.
A graduate in physics from Calcutta University, Mr Gopalakrishnan
also has a degree in engineering from the Indian Institute
of Technology, Kharagpur. Top |

Raj Jain
President of Emerging Markets, Wal-Mart International
Raj Jain has been with Wal-Mart International since 2006 and is responsible for new and emerging markets for Wal-Mart international. Based out of Shanghai China, he is currently directing Wal-Mart's entry efforts into India, where the company has recently announced a JV with Bharti enterprises, India's leading telecom service provider.
Prior to joining Wal-Mart Mr. Jain worked in several senior roles at Whirlpool Corporation, including President and MD of Whirlpool India, South East Asia and Head of Marketing and Supply Chain for Asia Pacific.
Mr. Jain joined Hindustan Lever (HLL) as a management trainee in 1980 and worked in India and the UK in various roles including new projects, technology, manufacturing and sales prior to his move to Whirlpool in 1996.
Mr. Jain holds a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from DCE, University of Delhi. He has served on the Board of various companies and is currently a member of the Execute Council of ECR Asia pacific.

Charles
R. Kaye Co-President,
Warburg Pincus Chairman of The U.S.-India Business Council.
Charles R. Kaye is Co-President of Warburg Pincus LLC, which he joined in 1986. He is jointly responsible for the management of the firm, including the formulation of strategy, oversight of investment policy and decisions, leadership of the firm's executive management group and the coordination of limited partner communications.
During his 19 years at the firm, Mr. Kaye has worked across a variety of industry sector groups and lived in Hong Kong from 1994 to 1999. During that time he established Warburg Pincus' operations in Asia, where the firm today is recognized as one of the leading private equity investors in the region. He was named Co-President in 2001.
Mr. Kaye is a graduate of the University of Texas, a member of the Trilateral Commission and the Council on Foreign Relations; Chairman of the U.S.-India Business Council; and a director of The Asia Society and Jarden Corporation.

Shantanu
Narayen President
and Chief Operating Officer, Adobe
Shantanu Narayen leads the Adobe’s day-to-day global operations; sets Adobe's long-term market strategies; and oversees all product research and development, corporate strategy and investments, and corporate and product marketing.
Together with CEO Bruce Chizen, Mr. Narayen spearheaded the $3.4 billion acquisition of Macromedia, Inc. in 2005, expanding Adobe's software platform and solutions and strengthening the company's presence in key markets ranging from enterprises and vertical industries to mobile devices and multimedia publishing. Prior to being named president and COO in January 2005, Narayen served as executive vice president of worldwide products and helped drive Adobe's successful expansion into the enterprise market. In that role, he also led Adobe's efforts to build more integrated solutions across product lines and successfully extended the company's flagship product lines to reach new markets. He previously held a mix of key product research and development positions, including senior vice president of worldwide product development and vice president and general manager of Adobe's engineering technology group.
Before joining Adobe in 1998, Narayen was co-founder of Pictra, Inc., an early pioneer of digital photo sharing over the Internet. Previously, he served as director of desktop and collaboration products at Silicon Graphics, Inc. and held various senior management positions at Apple Computer, Inc. Narayen holds five patents and is a frequent speaker at industry and academic events. He serves on the Advisory Board of the Haas School of Business, University of California at Berkeley. Narayen holds a bachelor's degree in electronics engineering from Osmania University in India, a master's degree in computer science from Bowling Green State University, and a master's degree in business administration from the Haas School of Business.
